Almorian the Red was a member of the Wiggles, whom they referred to simply as Red. He was the only member of the Wiggles to have died. His tale is a short but tragic one, and is entitled simply:
Don't be like Red
Almorian first joined the Wiggles when they were in the Port city of Harborside. On their first mission together the Wiggles were aboard a ship with the Ivers navy, and were chasing down a pirate vessel. Without warning, Almorian jumped overboard and swam to the pirate vessel. Now, Amorian was not a rogue, and was not particularly sneaky. He was not a fighter, and was not particularly strong. Almorian was a warlock, was somewhat loud, and was very sure of himself. So when Almorian was immediately captured and imprisoned, he was taken aback. After being rescued by the party, Almorian and the Wiggles returned to Harborside where they decided to get some rest at the Brimming Tankard.
While at the inn, Almorian decided to hit on the bartender and owner, Edna Flatspoon, who immediately informed him she was married. Not one to take no for an answer, Almorian walked out of the inn and proceeded to ask the DM if there were any "hot women" around. Noticing a couple, he proceeded to walk up to one and claim he was new in town and that she should "show him around." Quickly denying his advances, she walked off and he returned to the inn and went to sleep.
The following day, the Wiggles visited the farming community to the south of town where they were investigating a string of thefts. As he approached, the people looked with fear at Almorian. You see, Almorian was a Tiefling, and none of them had ever seen one before. Furthermore, given the recent monster attacks, the people were immediately fearful of him and many ran off to form a mob with the intent of driving him out of town. At this point, had Almorian attempted to speak with the townsfolk, or to reassure them he was not hostile, they would have backed down. Being in the company of the Wiggles would serve only to reassure them of his good intent, as the Wiggles had helped the townsfolk before. What did Almorian do?
Almorian: "I cast Arms of Hadar."
DM: "You what?"
Almorian: "I cast Arms of Hadar. I pick them up and shake them around a little bit."
Black tentacles rose from the ground, enveloped the area in darkness, and flayed the flesh from the townsfolk's skin. As they lay on the ground, nothing remaining but a steaming pool of blood, the town guard attacked and killed Almorian while the rest of the party disavowed any knowledge of him. At this point, the DM asked the player to roll up a new character so he could rejoin whenever he was ready. Instead, the player left the group.
A lengthy discussion was held after that game session, and all present were convinced the DM had done the correct thing. In the end, everyone decided the best thing to do was to spread the tale of this ignoble tiefling, and to remind everyone: Don't be like Red.
